Differences Between Human Hair Wigs and Synthetic Wigs

There are two main categories of hair prostheses: real human hair wigs and synthetic wigs. But which one to choose? What are the respective disadvantages and advantages? What criteria to take into account when choosing. Our responses.

A question of price

The criterion which is generally decisive in the choice between a natural wig with real human hair or a synthetic wig is not as one might think of aesthetic order. The first criterion which is indeed taken into account in the time to choose your hairpiece is actually economic.

You should know that depending on the brands of manufacturers, such as Raquel Welch wigs, Jon Renau, Noriko, René of Paris, Gabor, Revlon, New Image, Expressions, NJ Paris, Henry Margu or Chapilie, the price varies from simple to triple between One and the other. In some cases, a wig with real human hair, also called a natural wig, sometimes costs five times more than a synthetic wig.

Before opting for one or the other solution, it is therefore wise to look closely at its budget and study how much money you are available to invest in your wig. Although a wig with natural hair is more expensive, the investment can be worth it.

The Benefits of a Human Hair Wig.

The first advantage of a wig with real natural human hair is undoubtedly the realistic effect that it transmits. Today, an untrained eye will no longer differentiate between a human hair wig and synthetic hair. Obviously the latter must be of quality like those proposed by Jon Renau, Raquel Welch, Noriko, René of Paris, Gabor, Revlon, New Image, Expression, NJ Paris, Henry Margu or Chapilie and well worn.

The other strong point of a human hair wig is that it combs and looks like "real hair". So you can style your hair as usual, adopt different hairstyles and modify them at your leisure. Some human hair wigs even accept certain colors and the use of other hair products.

Finally, the third weight advantage is that a wig with real human hair lasts longer than its synthetic version. The investment, therefore, pays for itself over time.

And their disadvantages!

Being made with real hair, your human hair wig will react in the same way, that is to say, that your hair will be sensitive to the weather and may for example curl in wet weather. The other major drawback of your human hair wig is that it logically requires a little more maintenance: hairstyle, shampoo. so you have to devote a little time to take care of it.

You will, for example, pay attention to hair dryers and other heating devices which can weaken the hair and make it brittle. In the same vein, you will be vigilant when it comes to styling your hair and use a soft bristle brush. The last disadvantage of a human hair wig that needs to be emphasized is the weight of your hair prosthesis.

The advantages of a synthetic wig

The first thing to say when talking about synthetic wigs is that tremendous progress has been made in this area. The fibers used today to make synthetic wigs are almost similar in appearance but also to the touch than real hair. In some cases, it is really difficult to tell the difference.

As we told you, the first advantage of a synthetic wig is undoubtedly its price: a synthetic wig is much more affordable.

The other advantage is the ease of maintenance: no special precautions, a shampoo every week, or even two weeks is enough. Being made of synthetic fibers, the hair does not react to bad weather: whether it rains or not, your cut will always keep its general appearance.

The disadvantages of a synthetic wig

The general aesthetic of a synthetic wig is almost no longer a problem and is actually limited to an artificial shine in certain light conditions. Obviously everything depends on the quality of your wig and therefore its price. The other disadvantage is that unlike wigs with natural hair, you cannot change your hairstyle: the cut of your wig is unique, just like its color: it is strongly advised not to color a synthetic wig just like using curling irons and other hairdressing appliances which give off heat.

Each of the two options (synthetic wigs and natural wigs) therefore have their respective advantages and disadvantages, but what ultimately matters is how you feel. Therefore take the necessary time before choosing.
